Congolese Music

Congolese Music

The soundtrack to my Congolese adventure. Stand in the living room, close your eyes and imagine yourself in the VIP or Sapelli Night clubs.

“Traditional music”:

Koffi Olomide – superstar from DRC, party’s were incomplete without slow dancing to his songs.

Fally Ipupa – superstar from DRC, though slightly younger (check out the song Eloko Oyo, a smashing hit!)

Hip-hop:

The Shin Sekaï – French hip-hop group with Congolese roots, used mostly by our dancing group. Dances to “Ton pied c’est mon pied” and “Je suis désolé”

MHD – Big favorite with la légende du tigre

Afropop:

Toofan – Top hits “Teré Teré” and “Eledji” made the whole dance floor go crazy

Keblack – Super catchy tunes “Bazardée” and “J’ai déconné”. Playlist also contains “Chocolat” from Lartiste, one of my favorite songs!

Mr Leo – Check out “Jamais-jamais”

Ric Hassani – “Dance dance baby dance”

And last but not least my favorite band of all times, popular all over Africa: P-square

Dance away!
